09/29/05 Lost Season 2 Episode 2
This week was mostly backtracking last week but from alternate points of view. They showed Locke entering the hatch and looking for Kate. They also show everything up to the point where Jack shows up and recognizes Desmond.
Some things we didn't know from last week were that Desmond questioned Locke and wanted to know "are you him". who he was referring to is still unknown. Locke tried to lie but was foiled with a question that I missed. Desmond has Locke tie up Kate and lock her in a pantry. Locke sneaks her a knife and closes the door. she gets free and climbs into the air vents after taking a few candy bars.
Lastly they show that just before Jack showed up the computer alarm goes off again and Desmond had Locke type in the numbers and hit execute. we find that this resets a timer of some sort... the timer resets to 108.
IN the meantime, We learn what happened to Michael and Sawyer after the boat was attacked by the pirate types. The two of them are floating around on wreckage and arguing back and forth about who's to blame for the attack and Walt being kidnapped... also for Jin being missing. A giant sea creature lurks below and begins bumping the small chunk of boat they are on. they eventually find it to be a shark. Funny thing is... it has a company logo on its tail fin. The same logo is found on the clothing Desmond wears and around the inside of the hatch.
Sawyer tries to swim to another (larger) piece of the boat, the shark comes in for an attack and Michael shoots it to death with the handgun. they eventually float back to the island and swim back to shore. on land they hear Jin screaming... they cant understand him (broken English) till he comes closer and behind him is a bunch of people he is referring to as "udders" (others)
The back story in this one is about Micheal and him fighting to keep his son Walt in the states. He gets a lawyer who tells him to give up because of the cost and that Michael shouldn't worry because he wouldn't ever be responsible for Walt.
Mike insists on fighting in court.
At the hearing Mike is attacked by his ex's lawyer (ruthlessly) blaming him for things that were out of his control and making him appear to be a deadbeat dad. Later Mike goes to see his ex and she convinces him that she should be able to take Walt to Rome. Before leaving she takes Walt to visit Mike and say goodbye. It takes a while but Mike finally tells Walt that he is his dad and that he loves him. He gives Walt a white teddy bear and watches them leave.
Hints and clues... update:::
I gathered all the clues I have and some that I found after I made the post
These are for both episodes
1: Lawyer telling Mike to give up, similar to the psychic telling Shannon to give up her kid.
2: The company logo on Desmond's overalls, a few crates, all the food containers and the shark
3: The Candy bar Kate took was called "Apollo" don't know if that has any bearing, but they lingered on the shot... could just be an Easter egg (unimportant fake clue)
4: Desmond's statements to Locke... "Are you Him ?" and "So the world's still out there ? how many of you are there? how many of your group have gotten sick ? So the world's still out there ?" (clues to how long he has been there and why)
5: Countdown clock at 002 36 when Locke starts typing in the code... resets to 108 00, but the reset doesnt roll forward it rolls finishes the contdown and rolls backwords to its destined time. also... the seconds seem to move a bit faster than normal seconds
6: The woman Jack saved (?) is the woman he eventually marries. there is a connection with her miraculous ability to walk and Locke suddenly being able to walk after the plane crash.
7: The driver of the other car was pronounced dead at 8:15, He was Shannon's father.
8: The medical bottles that Desmond is shooting himself up with have cr 4-815 16-23 42 written on them
9: The mural is a crazy painting of mixed up stuff including a black man and a white woman some kind of tower -or- tree, several fish (similar to the christian fish the word "m sick", ocean waves, stick figures, the "cursed" numbers randomly around, a little house, a sun with what seems to be an eyeball in it and lastly a sun with the number 108 on it. 108 is the total of 4+8+15+16+23+42
10: the logo is a swan with the word dharma written in the middle
11: desmond's computer is 20 years old... the command prompt is >: I have never seen that prompt before
12: The teddy bear Michael gives young Walt appears to be a polar bear... note the Polar bear in Hurley's comic that Walt found and the one that appeared on the island (season 1)
13: "EN" intials on a sticker the back the record... "Make Your Own Kind of Music" by the mamma's and the pappas
14: In Michael's laywers office window the world trade center was still intact (not a clue but cool to notice)
15: Desmond rides the bike at a steady 16 mph
16: When Walt whispers to Shannon in the forrest he tell her "...press the button, dont button bad" no one could understand it becasue it was in reverse.
17: stick figure drawn on the circut box that Jack shines the flashlight on

09/22/05 Lost Season Premere
I wish they had a nice 2 hour opener but they showed the special that came out after last season to catch everyone up.
I don't know who has watched this show last year, but EVERYTHING is important. I heard even the characters names have a specific meaning.
The numbers I mention are 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 ... they turn up everywhere.
Also... as the show progresses we are finding that all the characters are linked in various ways.
SO...
The back story was about Jack in his early years as a surgeon. He is treating a woman who was in a head on car crash. The guy she hit, died before he could be treated. When she comes to, he informs her that the guy died and that her spine in so badly damage that she has little hope of recovery. His father takes him aside and tells him that he needs to give the patients hope even if there is little to none.
After meeting her asshole fiance and listening to her dream of dancing at her wedding, he vows to "fix" her. After the surgery he takes a jog at a baseball stadium running up and down the stairs, when a Irish guy appears doing the same thing. The Irish guy is moving faster so Jack tries to race him only to fall and hurt his leg. The Irish guy comes to help out and they talk for a little bit. The Irish guy informs us of his name "Desmond" and tells Jack that he needs to believe in miracles.
Jack goers back to the woman in recovery and begins to cry as he tells her that he tried his best and just could not fix her, that she would be paralyzed below the waist for the rest of her life. She thinks he's screwing with her and shows him that she can move her toes.
In the Present...
A strange guy wakes up and does some exercising, gets dressed and goes to computer where he types in some numbers and hits the "execute button" he hears a noise and grabs a gun and looks into a scope that follows a bunch of mirrors through corridors to the hatch.
Jack, Kate Hurley and Locke have the mysterious hatch open. Locke is ready to go down but Jack claims that it is best they wait till morning. On the way back to the camp, Hurley finally tells another castaway about the numbers and that he thinks the hatch is bad luck because of them.
quick note: Hurley heard a kid say the numbers over and over in a mental institution and played them in the lottery... he won. Since then every one he cared about died and everything around him went to shit (except his bank account) so he thinks the numbers are cursed.
Shannon loses the dog already and goes into the woods with Sayid looking for the dog when she sees Walt; soaking wet and saying something inaudible (I've already read rumors that he said "don't push the button, the button is bad") She panics and they go back to camp where everyone is arguing about "the others"
Locke decides that he isn't going to wait till morning to go into the hatch, and Kate follows shortly after. He lowers her into the hatch but she gets pulled in and disappears, So he follows. Jack shows up and sees that Kate and Locke are missing so he goes into the hatch and follows the corridors around finding a crazy mural, an electromagnetic generator, and a huge computer room. He is about to hit the execute key when Locke comes from around a corner and says "I wouldn't do that if I were you" there is a man with a gun to Locke's head... he is Desmond.
