06/30/05 Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana
So, when I first came to the site, I was somewhat shocked that no one had made a post on this game yet. Then I remembered that it was just released, and odds are no one has had a chance to pick it up yet.
Well don't wait too much longer, 'cause as with any game in the Mana series, they're only releasing a certain amount of the games. In a few months (maybe even weeks or days) it'll be almost impossible to get your hands on this game. They've been doing that with this series for as long as they've been around, so it's nothing new.
Also, like any Mana game, there's talk of an ancient civilization and a flying city and magical powers and all that fun stuff. This time, you're an alchemist by the name of Klein. You meet a girl named Lita who helps you out, then there's a lot of building up the story line (like in every RPG) and more explanations of things, and all that. I just got the game today, so I'm not that far. Don't expect me to be giving away any spoilers or anything because they'd be spoilers for me, as well.
I'd highly suggest this game for anyone who's a fan of RPGs. I think it's one of the best series, and this is definitely a great addition to the series.
Now, back to saving the world!

Well I'll be damned. They actually sent Batista to SD! I guess that means it will be Cena vs. HHH on Raw pretty soon because I don't see HHH without the belt much longer. I still think the Mexicools gimmick is pretty tasteless but the "Juan Deere" lawnmowers were pretty funny. And can we please not have the Mexican soap opera between Eddie and Rey? Do we really need to have an Eddie is the real father of Rey's son storyline? If that's the case then they need to have Erik Estrada in there somewhere. Good to see Christian on SD! Bad to see him job to JBL so quick. From what I've heard JBL is the HHH of SD! as far as kissing Vinny Macs ass goes.
And in other news PWInsider has reported that the WWE is indeed in talks to bring back Matt Hardy.

06/30/05 Ben and Jen Get Married
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have officially tied the knot at the Parrot Cay resort in the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos. They also finally confirmed that she is pregnant.
All I keep thinking is "Matt Damon" from the movie 'Team America'.

The world's largest fresh-water catfish was caught in Thailand at a whopping 646-pounds. Imagine swimming and having those whiskers tickle you?!

06/30/05 Ironic E.L.F.S. Sitings
We all know rumors are not always true, but the rumor I found out today just about floored me. I heard that our favorite little elfkin and his basset hound fiance might get married in the SAME town where I am right now!! The rumor has it that Tiny Tom and Katie offered to pay a couple to move their wedding to a really pretty spa here in town, so they could have their wedding at the inn right by the lake. I have seen many celebrities here over the years and Captain Stumpy grew up in Syracuse, so he's only bound to know this area. I better keep a look out for little Tonka trucks with tinted windows and pygmies with spears attacking my ankles. Once you start smelling fresh baked cookies in town, you know it's all over...they have arrived.
Talking about being a goddess on her knees. Katie better be, she has to be on her knees all the time in order to be eye level with Tiny Tom.

Check out this letter to the editor in the St. Petersburg Times (Fla.)...
The US is one of the few places where Scientology is actually recognized as a religion. Thank you very much Bill Clinton.
Re: Newspaper is stuck in past over Scientology, letter by Steve Sigal, June 24.
Mr. Sigal and others complain that some who dislike Scientology after all these years are "stuck in the past." The issue is Scientology being stuck in unacceptable policies.
Scientology sneaked into Clearwater and immediately started infiltrating agents into government and newspapers and started harassing critics. It never apologized for these actions. And later the same infiltration tactics popped up again in Canada and Greece. In Greece, it got Scientology shut down.
The same "fair game" tactics are still used. Critics are swarmed with private investigators, harassing lawsuits, libels, smears and dirty tricks to this day.
To get over the past problems, Scientology needs to change. It needs to openly cancel "fair game" and similar policies loudly and openly - not for public consumption, but to set an example and new course for Scientology and Scientologists. It needs to implement new guidelines and policies.
Scientology never apologized for its bizarre "fair game" tactics against people like former Clearwater Mayor Gabe Cazares or author Paulette Cooper.
This is an organization that has argued in two major court cases that "fair game" polices are a core practice and should be constitutionally protected. (These cases were Scientology vs. Lawrence Wollersheim , 1989, and Scientology vs. Gerald Armstrong , 1984.)
An organization with that outrageous attitude and its history is an organization that is not trustworthy. You cannot trust its good judgment, goodwill or intentions. It would be foolish to trust it in anything until major changes are made in management and real policy changes are implemented.
Until changes are made, the attitude of government and government personnel should be that Scientology is just a dangerous cult and any dealings with it should be at arm's length - not as punishment, but to force real and deep change on Scientology. Make Scientologists change, not governments or communities, and let them know that without change they will never be acceptable.

06/29/05 Wanna be on a podcast?
Uncle Trench needs you. That's right kids I'm looking for contributors for my podcast. And since it's seems to be almost impossible to record a live chat conversation without spending large sums of money here's what I need you to do and my invitation is open to just about everybody. If you want to be on my podcast just make an MP3 that's under 10MB in size and e-mail it to me at 5secondsofwhitenoise@gmail.com. If you're mail service doesn't allow attachments of that size let me know and I'll hook you up with a G-mail account. I reserve the right to edit submissions for time and possibly content but you really have to say something completely offensive to the universe for me to edit for content. The software I use is Audacity. They also have the information you need to import the sound file as an MP3 as well. I'll be putting the podcast together on Sunday so please have your submissions in by Saturday night. Let's make this thing huge.
06/29/05 Weird has a new definition
Even the hungry hungry hippo Rosie O'Donnel is taking shots at Tom Cruise. Unfortunately it's in peotery form. I'm not going to reprint it. It's too painful to read again. I'll warn you. She actually uses "u" and "ur" as words.
06/29/05 Material Girl turns in Material Shopper
I recently read that Madonna got her daughter, Lourdes, a credit card with a $10,000 credit limit to teach her the value of money. She apparently had to "pull some strings" in order for her to get a credit card. Yes, because ALL children should have a credit card that their rich mothers can pay off! If she wanted her to learn the value of money, she should have just gave her a bunch of red string and some botox and have her sell those items on Rodeo Drive. Or let her work in McDonald's... it's really just a matter of preference.
06/29/05 SCOTUS
Could a hotel be built on the land owned by Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter? A new ruling by the Supreme Court which was supported by Justice Souter himself itself might allow it.
A private developer is seeking to use this very law to build a hotel on Souter's land.

Jim... you need to see this movie and do one of your reviews on it... so I can argue with you on how wrong you are and how great of a movie it is!!!
But seriously, I recommend this movie to anybody who likes horror and/or zombie flicks... Romero is a genius!!!

Fla. Teens Charged After Allegedly Burning American Flags:
Here comes my favorite part...
I bet they actually lived in the basement too.
And courtesy of The Smoking Gun here is the face of anarchy...

Here's a tip kids. When you still live with mommy and daddy you're not an anarchist.

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Two Sarasota teens accused of burning six American flags have been charged with arson and manufacturing a firebomb.
Scott A. Baber and Brian A. Richard III, both 18, told deputies they burned the flags because they are anarchists and disagree with the war in Iraq and other U.S. government policies.
Here comes my favorite part...
Baber and Richard burned about five flags at homes in the Bent Tree subdivision, where they live with Baber's parents, then set fire to a flag at its clubhouse, said Lt. Chuck Lesaltato, a spokesman for the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Cruise gets support from Scientology
Could they be any more transparent?
A group billing itself as a “psychiatric watchdog” is backing up Tom Cruise’s controversial comments to Matt Lauer about psychiatry and psychiatric drugs. Oh, and by the way, the “watchdog” group was formed by the Church of Scientology.
On a recent “Today Show” appearance, the “War of the Worlds” star angrily blasted the use of drugs such as Ritalin, and told Lauer that there’s no such thing as a chemical imbalance that leads to maladies such as depression.
On Monday, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights issued a statement saying that the high-profile Scientologist was right on with his diagnosis.
Could they be any more transparent?
06/28/05 6/27/05 RAW
I am so behind on my blog posting today.
So RVD and Big Show are the last two draft picks. Pretty impressive. It seems like they are loading up RAW since SD! is changing to Fridays in the fall.
And how cool was it for Carlito to attack RVD. I thought it ranked almost up there with the infamous Piper hitting Snuka in the head with a coconut.
And as usual the WWE had something distasteful on their show and as usual it involved Lita. I was a little more than uncomfortable with Kane choking Lita. As someone who has witnessed domestic violence I thought it was a little too much.
